Coaching and Mentorship

Getting to the Heart of it

As a Mayor, Chair, Councillors, Board member or senior staff member, it is likely you care passionately about your community, your organisation and its future – that is why you spend your time and resources to the betterment of the world around you.

Individual Coaching provides elected members and executive staff members with a confidential space with a professional and impartial coach to support and challenge them to impact the role significantly.

Coaching has a positive effect on skills development, mood and motivation, build resilience, and can significantly enhance performance.

  • Coaching is delivered one-on-one and thus tailored to the goals of the individual. For example, coaching for elected members or executive staff members can be easily accessed, is cost-effective and of high quality.
  • It is regularly evaluated to ensure it is fit for purpose. It is a flexible development opportunity that can be arranged around the commitments of the elected member or staff member.
  • Most coaching relationships involve some face-to-face meetings, but this doesn’t have to happen all the time – and coaching relationships can occur using phone or Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Coaching is not a one-off intervention. To effectively improve performance, I recommend a coaching relationship consists of 4-6 sessions around 1-2 hours long – over 6-12 months at times that suit you.

I encourage you to invest in yourself and make contact!
